Consuming (the) Victorians takes place in one of the most recent additions to Cardiff University’s ongoing programme of estates expansion: the Cardiff Business School’s flagship Postgraduate Teaching Centre. A short walk (15 mins) away from Cardiff city centre, the £13.5m conference venue offers the very best in state-of-the-art facilities for delegates, in a modern and vibrant environment.

You can download a location guide of the conference venue and surrounding area at this link.

Launched in the autumn of 2014 by the First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones, the PTC comprises two large lecture theatres (which will house the plenary sessions), a number of seminar rooms that can accommodate anywhere up to 40 delegates and a spacious concourse, in which delegates will be able to socialise during breaks, as well as a common room for those seeking a chance to catch up quietly on emails (or last-minute polishing of papers). All conference papers will be based in the PTC, while other events such as the wine reception and conference banquet will allow delegates to experience some of the more historical parts of the Cardiff University campus.
