Consuming (the) Victorians

2016 Annual Conference of the British Association for Victorian Studies

Registration

Registration for BAVS 2016: "Consuming (the) Victorians" was managed through an online registration system. All participants, including presenters, moderators, and attendees, were required to join the British Association for Victorian Studies prior to registering for the conference.

BAVS Membership

Membership of the British Association for Victorian Studies was required for conference attendance. The membership fee for both UK and international applicants was set at £15 for regular members and £10 for students and unwaged members. Membership included access to the annual conference, newsletters, and eligibility for BAVS funding opportunities.

Bursaries

A total of twelve bursaries were made available to postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers wishing to attend BAVS 2016. These bursaries were intended to support early career scholars whose research aligned with the conference themes.

Conference Costs

Full Conference Attendance

The registration fee for all three days included dinner on Day 1, lunch on Days 2 and 3, and refreshment breaks throughout. The package also included the conference reception and dinner on the second day, but excluded accommodation.

Concessionary rates applied for students, unwaged delegates, and early career researchers on part-time contracts. Proof of status could be a copy of a valid ID card, a letter or email from the delegate's institution, or a reference.

In the interest of planning, speakers were requested to register by 1st July. Speakers not registered by that date were deemed to have withdrawn. The final registration deadline for non-speaking delegates was 31st July.
